Announcing Graduate Of The Year 2016

And it’s back! Are you a recent graduate? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity for you to get your career started? Well, look no further because Adzuna’s back with the fifth edition of its Graduate Of The Year 2016 Competition! Except this time, it’s bigger and better than before with tons of new opportunities. Adzuna’s giving YOU the one-time chance to win a job, some cash, and a foot in the door. Here’s a glimpse of what just what you could be yours:

  1. An internship with a top UK company (including eBay, L’Oreal, Sony & Google)
  2. A cash prize of £1,000
  3. A CV clinic with a top UK entrepreneur

With the UK job market seeing something of a slowdown in recent months, the news for this year’s graduates could be better. Employers are are advertising 8% less vacancies for the Class of 2016 this year, and advertised salaries are down since 2015 too. But the news is far from all bad, with some of the UK’s biggest employers still creating career opportunities for the best and brightest in this year’s graduate pool.

If you’ve graduated in the last 12 months from a recognised UK university (or are in your final year) then we want to hear from YOU! We are looking for the brightest, sharpest, sparkiest, gutsiest individual with oodles of talent. Whether arts, music, sports, academia, languages are your forte, or are an outstanding student union member, leader, or social contributor, we want to hear all about you and why you deserve the coveted ‘Graduate of the year’ crown.

To enter our competition, click here and tell us briefly why you think you are the Graduate of the Year 2016. The deadline for applications is 22 August and the finalists will be notified by email before 1 September 2016.

Our selected 2016 UK finalist will receive a certificate and a cool prize, before going on to compete for the international graduate of the year title with finalists from Germany, Russia, Poland, Canada, India, Netherlands, France, Brazil, South Africa and Australia.

Last year’s winner Claudio Luciano Guimarães Florenzano was a graduate in information technology management from Martha Falcão University. His biggest achievement was creating an online community for technology professionals in Brazil – The Brazilian Community Of Information Systems, with the objective of helping people to follow a career in tech, sharing all content free of charge to its users. The community already has over 50 thousand members, and over 850 thousand visitors to the their site. Claudio’s achievements have now been recognised internationally and we are extremely happy to be able to be a part of his professional story in the tech industry.
